MelDawg In the Woods

Years ago after a station concert I was imbibing a few beers with some colleagues at local pub when they – for some unknown reason – started referring to me as “Meldawg”.

I have been called many things in my life. Aside from my given name “John” I’ve been dubbed; “Johnny Joe”, “Johnny Poo” (a former boss), “J.M.” (another former boss) “Jack” (Only my mother calls me this on occasion), “J.J.” (my wife, when she really wants my attention), “Smelly Melley” (schoolyard morons), “Mel” (most common), “Melvin” (this became something of a graffiti campaign – kinda like “Kilroy Was Here” of my High School chums), “Melley-Vanelly” (cute and always gets a laugh) and “John Cougar Melley-Camp” (clever).

“Meldawg” was something new and it stuck. I’ve been trying to figure out a fun way to use the name, so I thought I’d use it for my “Book Club”.

What Am I Reading?

I get a lot of people asking me what I’m reading. It’s a wide range of topics. Anything from Benjamin Franklin to Neuroscience, Marketing to light fiction, Time & Business Management to Fitness, Drumming, Entertainment, Radio and more.
